The BI-018 is a delta safety stirrup in polished stainless steel with a distinctive triangular open frame, square loose eye, and a wide deep-ribbed black rubber tread. The triangular delta frame is the defining safety feature of the BI-018 — where a conventional stirrup has near-parallel arms, the delta design widens dramatically from the eye to the tread, creating a large open triangular space that allows the foot to slide free laterally in the event of a fall. This open geometry significantly reduces the risk of the foot becoming trapped, without requiring any mechanical release mechanism — the safety is built into the shape itself. The square loose eye at the top allows the stirrup leather to pivot freely, further reducing the risk of the stirrup locking in an awkward position.
