BI-0014 Premium 3-Ring Butterfly Bit with French Link Lozenge Mouthpiece

The BI-0014 is a full stainless steel 3-ring Dutch Gag-style butterfly bit featuring a double-jointed French link lozenge mouthpiece and a curb chain. The flat oval lozenge centre piece eliminates the nutcracker action of a single-jointed bit, distributing pressure evenly across the tongue and bars for a softer, more comfortable contact — while the 3-ring cheekpiece gives the rider precise control over poll and bar pressure.

Key Features

  • 3-ring Dutch Gag cheekpiece — three rings per side allow rein attachment at the snaffle, middle, or lower position for adjustable poll and bar pressure
  • French link lozenge mouthpiece — double-jointed with a flat oval lozenge centre; eliminates nutcracker action and lies comfortably on the tongue
  • Full stainless steel construction — hygienic, rust-resistant, and built for long-term durability
  • Curb chain included — adds a light chin groove action when the lower ring is used, supporting collection and refinement
  • 12 sizes available — 10.0 cm (3.9") to 15.5 cm (6.1") for a precise, comfortable fit

How to Use

Attach reins to the top ring for a mild snaffle-like action with no poll pressure. Use the middle ring for moderate poll engagement, or the lower ring with the curb chain for a more collected, precise response. The French link mouthpiece makes this an excellent all-round choice for horses that go well in a double-jointed snaffle but need a little more adjustability.

Ideal For

Horses that accept a French link snaffle well and need a versatile bit for schooling, jumping, or competition. The lozenge mouthpiece is particularly well-suited to horses with a fleshy tongue or those that resist single-jointed bits.

Size Guide: Measure your horse's mouth width from corner to corner and add 0.5 cm for the ideal fit.
